Welcome to my journal

Sharon Glatz Scott — Global Real Estate Advisor

Hello, and welcome. I'm Sharon Glatz Scott — Global Real Estate Advisor with Realogics Sotheby's International Realty — and this journal is where I share the things I care about most: this community, the people in it, and the real estate decisions that shape your life.

I've been rooted on Mercer Island since 1977. These neighborhoods, these schools, these waterfront trails and coffee shops and familiar faces — they're my home. That kind of deep, lived-in knowledge is what makes the difference when you're making one of the biggest decisions of your life.

I got into real estate because I wanted to guide people through life's biggest transitions with clarity, confidence, and zero drama. That's especially true for the clients I work with most — people downsizing from a larger home, right-sizing into something that better fits their lifestyle, relocating to the Pacific Northwest, selling a cherished family home for the first time in decades, or buying their next chapter. It might be an estate or trust sale, or a first venture into Eastside real estate. Whatever the moment, it's not just about finding a new address. It's about designing what comes next with intention, and having someone in your corner who makes every step feel manageable.

That's what I mean by putting the "real" back into real estate. No pressure, no scripts — just honest guidance, clear communication, and the kind of service I'd want for my own family.

What you'll find here

This journal is my way of sharing what I know and what I see — not just listings, but the full picture of living on the Eastside. Here's a preview of what's ahead:

  • Area Spotlights — Deep dives into Mercer Island, Bellevue, and the Greater Eastside. The stuff only a local would know.
  • Market Updates — What's actually happening in Eastside real estate, explained in plain language without the jargon.
  • Downsizing & Transition Tips — Practical advice for anyone thinking about their next chapter, from decluttering strategies to staging and logistics.
  • Community & Lifestyle — Local events, hidden gems, seasonal happenings, and the moments that make living here so special.

Whether you're actively thinking about buying or selling, casually curious about the market, or just want to feel more connected to this corner of the world — I'm glad you're here. Pull up a chair, browse around, and if anything sparks a question, you know where to find me.
