Weekend Picks & Local Events
Your Eastside Week Ahead: July 17-23
One of the things I love about living on the Eastside is that there is always something happening. Whether you're in Mercer Island, Bellevue, or anywhere around the Greater Eastside, there are plenty of options for a fun weekend. Here are my picks for this week, July 17 through 23.
Events This Week, July 17-23
From art fairs on the water to lavender fields in full bloom, here are my top picks for the week.
Alki Art Fair
West Seattle Waterfront
Stroll along the waterfront while browsing artwork from more than 100 local artists. You'll also find live music, food vendors, activities for kids, and one of the best views of the Seattle skyline. A fun way to spend a summer afternoon by the water.
Kirkland Uncorked
Kirkland Waterfront
Wine tasting on the Kirkland waterfront with Washington wineries, local restaurants, shopping, and live entertainment. The artisan market is open to everyone, even if you're not here for the wine.
Sequim Lavender Festival
Sequim, WA, Day Trip from the Eastside
If you're up for a day trip, Sequim is in full bloom. Lavender farms, a street fair, local food, and one of Washington's most beautiful summer traditions. The drive through the Olympic Peninsula is gorgeous.
Seafair Indian Days Powwow
Discovery Park, Seattle
Held at Discovery Park, this annual gathering celebrates Native culture through traditional dancing, drumming, art, and food. One of Seattle's longest running cultural events and always worth attending.
CID Celebration
Seattle's Chinatown-International District
Seattle's Chinatown-International District comes alive with multicultural performances, food trucks, family activities, vintage cars, and entertainment throughout the day. Bring your appetite.
King County Fair
Enumclaw, WA
Carnival rides, farm animals, live entertainment, fair food, vendors, and a rodeo in Enumclaw. A great family day trip from anywhere on the Eastside.
Blastfest at Seattle Center
Fisher Pavilion, Seattle Center
An afternoon of music celebrating artists from around the world at Fisher Pavilion. A fun way to discover new performers and soak up the summer atmosphere.
My Weekend Advice
Sometimes the best weekends aren't planned months in advance. Pick one event, grab a friend, try a new restaurant nearby, and explore somewhere you haven't been in a while. Summer in the Pacific Northwest doesn't last forever, so take advantage of these longer days.
If you're looking for more events around Seattle, Bellevue, Tacoma, or Puget Sound, Events12 has a great easy-to-search calendar of festivals, concerts, markets, and community events all year long.
Have a wonderful weekend! Sharon
